It’s simple to make, but it’s not simple to stop yourself from having seconds. This chocolate mousse looks so elegant and fancy that your dad won’t believe you made it all by yourself. Take the presentation to the next level by serving with chocolate savings, berry jus, or caramel sauce.  

 

How to make chocolate mousse?  

  1. Separate 4 eggs into yolks and whites.  

  1. Slowly melt 1 pound of dark chocolate in a double boiler. Stir frequently.  

  1. Let the melted chocolate cool slightly. Then whisk in 2 egg yolks.  

  1. Set aside and let the mousse cool.  

  1. Beat 1 ½ cups of thick cream until stiff peaks form.  

  1. In a new bowl, whisk the egg whites. Gradually add 1/3 cup of white sugar.  

  1. With a spatula, fold the cream into the chocolate.  

  1. Then, add the egg white and sugars. Fold until well combined.  

  1. Pour the mousse into a large container or bowl. Cover with plastic wrap.  

  1. Put in the freezer. Chill for at least 3 hours.  

  1. Dip a tablespoon in warm water. Spoon out the chocolate mousse into serving bowls. Enjoy!
